For an hour, she had no idea where her precious five year old son was because he'd suddenly vanished. It was the longest, most tortured, sixty minutes of her life as she screamed for help.
"I said Oh my God where's my child, my child. Where is my son?" said Sosa.
Somehow little Sammy slipped away. He walked up to the steps to the elevated subway station, ducked under the turnstile and got on the number one downtown train all by himself. Officials believe he then rode, and rode, and rode; thirty four stops, all the way down to the South Ferry terminal.
Sosa notified police and they issued an alert. Attentive transit workers noticed the five year old by alone and grabbed him. Official say Sammy had been on the train for nearly an hour. Authorities eventually returned him to his panic stricken mother.
"Everyday I pray to God up to for him and I think God helped me," said Sosa.
