LI process serving firm charged with fraud

LONG ISLAND New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo filed the charges Tuesday against the president of American Legal Process, a Lynbrook, Long Island firm.

Investigators say the failure to deliver the lawsuits left thousands of people in the dark about the claims.

Authorities say some people didn't find out they were being sued until their bank accounts were frozen.

A lawyer for company president William Singler acknowledged that some of his workers weren't following the law but says the violations happened without his knowledge.
