Woman gets dead fiance's sperm

New York Yesterday, Johnny died suddenly in his brother's arms and they wanted to ensure Johnny's legacy lived on. They asked a judge to grant permission to extract the sperm from his body.

Johnny had told his family he wanted nothing more than to have a second child with his fiance.

"We wished to have another child. He was in fine, healthy condition," said fiance Gisela Marrero.

So, his family sat in court today as Judge Howard Sherman in the Bronx granted their wish and gave a local sperm bank the go ahead to extract the sperm from Johnny's body as it lay at Jacobi Hospital. Time was ticking. Doctors told the family they only had 36 hours and there were only three hours left.

"We had to wait for all the offices to open at 9. We made some calls," said his fiancee.

This case is very similar to another in Austin, Texas only a week and a half ago where the parents of 21 year old Nicholas Evans were granted the same rights by a judge after Nicholas was killed in a bar fight.

Meanwhile, Johnny's family could hardly contain their gratitude after hearing the judge. "I can't imagine life without him. But this is gonna help a lot of people who want this done," said his mother, Carmen Moreno.
