Critics have long maintained that the Belmont Fair is a problem, and now they are saying I told you so.
Jeff Desir, 23, of Queens Village, Shereece Codner, 20, of Jamaica, Christopher Wallace, 23, of St. Albans, and Rood Alvarez, 15, of Queens Village, are each charged with four counts of second-degree attempted murder, police said.
Officials say the suspects were at the fair at the Belmont Racetrack Saturday night when they reportedly got into an argument with a group of people.
The defendants left the grounds and allegedly waited for the group to exit the racetrack. When the first group came out, police say the suspects took out a semi-automatic handgun and fired about six rounds.
All of the victims were hit. They are two 17-year-olds, a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old.
A special police detail, which was assigned to the fair, arrested the suspects.
The victims are all expected to survive.
