FDNY lieutenant hurt on 9/11 gets new lung

A New York City fire department lieutenant who was suffered life-threatening injuries on Sept. 11 is set to be released from the hospital with a new lung. Lt. Martin Fullam, of Staten Island, is set to be released at noon Wednesday from Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital. Firefighters and fire officials have planned a sidewalk celebration at the entrance of the Washington Heights hospital.

Lt. Fullam suffered severe lung damage in the World Trade Center attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Doctors say the lung transplant saved his life.
