New hope in fight against Alzheimer's

NEW YORK Of the 540 patients studied at Massachusetts General Hospital, researchers found that those who took both vitamin e and the drug showed the greatest improvement.

Those who only took vitamin e had a modest difference.

People given just an anti-inflammatory showed the least benefit.

Researchers said further studies are needed to assess the long-term balance of risks versus benefits for people with Alzheimer's disease from taking vitamin E and anti-inflammatory drugs.
