Arrest in murder of Staten Island woman

WEST BRIGHTON, N.Y. Calvin Lawson, 28, from Brooklyn is accused of strangling his ex-girlfriend -- 26-year-old Caroline Wimmer-- with the electrical cord from a hair dryer in March. Police say Wimmer had been beaten beyond recognition.

Wimmer's parents found her dead after they drove from Pennsylvania to Staten Island -- after they could not get in touch with their daughter.

Wimmer's mother believes her daughter was victimized by rumors posted on the internet by another woman -- who claimed Wimmer was cheating on Lawson.
