There are startling accusations Wednesday against a New York City police officer. He is accused of trying to steal nearly a million dollars in drug money that was buried under the floor of an apartment. Bail was set at $200,000 for Officer Shawn Jenkins for his alleged connection to $900,000 in drug money.

Prosecutors allege that Jenkins was conspiring to commit a home invasion robbery to get his hands on the money. Jenkins works out of the 23rd Precinct in East Harlem. Authorities say they have audio and videotaped recordings of Jenkins conspiring to rob the occupants of an apartment in Upper Manhattan. In that apartment, prosecutors say, a drug dealer hid the money under the floor. Jenkins was allegedly to recover the money by tying up the current occupants. Jenkins did not enter a plea, and his attorney did not comment.
