Alleged hideout found in SI woods

STATEN ISLAND The hideout is a makeshift clubhouse, tucked away in the woods. It is a short hike into those woods off Brielle avenue in Staten Island.

A small encampment, that a group of alleged vandals liked to call home.

They would reportedly go there to hang out and to plan their latest attacks.

The most recent one was inside the Sea View Hospital Rehabilitation center and Home, and it was no ordinary crime.

The office, home to Staten Island's Veteran's Resource Center and home to everything soldiers' moms held dear.

"They broke out hearts. We are mothers of Iraq soldiers, veterans. They destroyed stuff we cannot replace," said Christine Delisa.

Police have made several arrests since the attack last weekend which affected many offices within the Seaview complex, but other vandals may still be out there.

The mothers of the soldiers want the vandals to understand, the magnitude of what they've done.

Cathry Diiorio adds, "His (her son) bronze star, purple heart, everything, was thrown to the floor and ripped and destroyed".
