4 NYC hotels settle ADA lawsuit

NEW YORK The U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan says the hotels are: the Moderne; the Ameritania; the Amsterdam Court, and the Radio City Suites. The case against a fifth hotel is pending.

The settlement filed Monday resulted from a federal compliance review of 49 Theater District hotels started in 2005. Investigators say the hotels lacked barrier free lobbies and rooms as well as accessible registration counters and public restrooms.

Long Island attorney Sol Orbuch represented the hotels. He did not immediately return a telephone message seeking comment.
