Jet America to fly out of Newark

A new low cost airline is set to begin serving the tri-state area. Clearwater, Florida-based Jet America plans to begin offering 34 non-stop passenger flights a week at mid-sized U.S. airports.

Twenty of those flights start or end at Newark Liberty International Airport.

Prices start at just 9 dollars a seat and top out at $199.

The nine dollar price applies to the first 9 to 19 seats on each plane.

Checking a bag will cost $15. Food, drinks and in-flight tv will also cost a fee.
