A jogger was struck by a car being followed by police in Kips Bay this morning. The driver of a gray Toyota refused to pull over to police just after 7 a.m.

The Toyota collided with a taxi, and then a female jogger was struck at the intersection of East 34th Street and First Avenue.

The jogger was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene in his Toyota and later on foot.

He tried to flee police by climbing a fence, but instead injured himself along the FDR Drive.

He was taken into custody and charges against the suspect are pending.
