Police are searching for suspects in the shooting of a teenage girl in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn.Eyewitnesses say the victim is a 17-year-old girl who was walking into her family's apartment building when she was caught in a crossfire, just feet from her front door.

Shattered glass could be seen all over the floor of the building.

Friends say she was coming home from the store when she was shot.

"You heard the boom," neighbor Sandra Ruiz said. "I looked out the window, and everyone was running all over the place. So I knew something bad had to have happened."

People inside the apartment building were locked down for almost two hours while police investigated.

Friends say the girl was a student at Sheepshead Bay High School, which is located across from her home.

The girl's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
