One-car accident snarls GSP traffic

May 25, 2009 7:50:13 AM PDT
A one-car accident along the Garden State Parkway is snarling holiday traffic in central New Jersey. Authorities temporarily shut down both local and express northbound lanes on the Parkway at Exit 116, near the PNC Bank Arts Center, so that a medical helicopter could land.

Parkway spokesman Joe Orlando says some lanes have been reopened, but there is about a four-mile backup.

One person was thrown from their car when it rolled over Monday morning. Authorities say two others in the car appear to have minor injuries.
