3 attacked in mistaken ID incident

YONKERS The victims had reportedly just left their jobs at an Indian restaurant just after 10 p.m. when the man jumped from a car, brandishing a knife.

Police Captain Frederick Hellthaler told the Journal News that the suspect had received a call from his wife saying she had just been robbed on Kimball Avenue. He raced to the scene with another man and found the three victms walking down the street.

He reportedly jumped out yelling, "That was my wife!"

Police say the suspect stabbed one of the men in the lower abdomen and left lower back and another in the lower abandon. The third man managed to escape.

The two who were stabbed were hospitalized in stable condition.

"It's a shame," Hellthaler told the newspaper. "These poor guys were leaving work and this maniac did something like this."
