New York City police say a Brooklyn man has been charged in the shooting death of a 17-year-old Long Island boy over the weekend. Police say 33-year-old Scott Bruno fired a handgun inside his Bensonhurst apartment at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, and the bullet struck the boy in the head.
Seventeen-year-old Phillip Levy of Wantagh was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Bruno and Levy knew each other.
Bruno was arrested Sunday morning and has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Police say they don't know whether he has an attorney.
