NASA loods for Wed. launch of shuttle

June 15, 2009 7:37:20 AM PDT
Signs are good for a space shuttle launch early Wednesday. NASA officials say they have already completed repairs to a hydrogen gas vent line that's connected to the shuttle Endeavour's fuel tank. The potentially dangerous hydrogen gas leak prevented Endeavour and its seven astronauts from blasting off to the international space station on Saturday.

However, a shuttle launch before dawn on Wednesday means NASA must delay an unmanned moon mission for a few days. Two lunar probes were supposed to go up Wednesday afternoon. Top NASA officials will decide by midday which mission flies first.
