A body was dug up in the woods in Farmingville after Suffolk County Homicide detectives received a tip. Eyewitness News is told the body was found buried in a wooded area about 100 feet from Long Island Expressway Drive North, west of Old Medford Road.

The body was taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office, which will conduct an autopsy today.

Detectives began searching the wooded area with dogs after receiving a tip. After looking for five hours, the K-9 unit found the buried remains.

Police declined to say if the body is linked to the recent search for a missing 15-year-old teen until the autopsy is completed.
