"I heard three loud booms," Abaday explained.
Teaneck Police are investigating a pattern of 15 burglaries in the last two weeks.
"This person appears to be driving around town looking for an opportunity because they're happening at all different times, parts of town," Teaneck Police Captain Dean Kazinci said.
Now that summer is here, many families are going on vacation. Teaneck police are advising residents to always make sure their homes have a lived-in look, with lights on and the mail and newspapers picked up.
The Teaneck burglar has forced his way into more than a dozen homes by breaking into windows and doors. He has gotten away with cash and jewelry, but at the Brown home, his taste was a bit more old fashioned.
"It was a 20 inch RCA table model. I don't even think anyone would buy it today," Julius Brown said.
Only one homeowner got a look at the thief -- he's described as a white or Hispanic man, driving a green Mitsubishi SUV. He found his latest victims at 3:00 a.m. Friday. So far, no one has been hurt.
"We've seen a spike in shoplifting with the economy the way it is. This doesn't surprise us," Kazinci said.
