Getting a bod the celebrity way

She helps Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow get buff bods, and now she's bringing her technique to the New York. Trainer to the stars Tracy Anderson is opening a studio in Manhattan. If you don't like your body shape, Anderson says she can re-engineer it. She focuses on the smaller muscles that can help pull in the larger muscles, creating a leaner body. And her method is now being taught in TriBeCa.

Been there, done that. That's how Anderson felt 12 years ago. She was a dancer, but just couldn't get into shape. Clearly, she fixed that problem. And she's helping others fix theirs.

"I don't care what your genetic shape is," she said. "I can get rid of it."

Don't believe her? Then take a look at her poster girls, Madonna and Gwyneth. Paltrow is also Tracy's business partner in the new studio.

There are bars, hanging contraptions and a ceiling adorned with stretchy bands. They're used for an aerobic work out that makes you feel a little bit like a marionette. Cardio is a complement to what Tracy calls her method, which focuses on the accessory muscles.

Tracy says between 40 and 80 reps for each prescribed and custom-tailored move can do the body good. Follow the method, and you might just look like a superstar.

But getting that star body will cost you. Monthly fees are $900 at Tracy's studio, as well as initiation fees. But there are ways to train for less. She has a number of DVDs out, and she offers Webisodes that you can download. They benefit Madonna's charity called Raising Malawi.
