Airport employees caught in theft sting

QUEENS Authorities say 28-year-old Brian Burton, a TSA employee, and 26-year-old Antwon Simmons, who works at Aviation Safeguard, were arrested at around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The two were reportedly caught in a sting set up after Delta Airlines officials noticed items missing from bags over the past year. Delta notified the Transportation Security Administration, and their Office of Inspections set up an integrity sting.

The two quickly took the TSA bait, according to officials. They allegedly stole a laptop and cell phone from a bag and, adding insult to injury, ripped the destination tag from the bag.

They were quickly arrested by Port Authority Police.
