Police involved shooting in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY Police say, the officer was struck by the suspect's vehicle at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Neptune Avenue just before 10:30 a.m.

While on the hood, the officer fired multiple shots into the moving vehicle to try to get the driver to stop, according to police.

One of the suspects was shot in the hip. He was taken to Jersey City Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The officer who was hit by the car was taken to Christ Hospital, also with non-life threatening injuries

Two suspects were taken into custody at the scene, and charges are pending.

One person, described as a suspect, was shot by responding police.

The shooting is under investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

The shooting occurred during a Jersey City Police narcotics investigation.
