Man rescued from tracks after brawl

JAMAICA A 59-year-old reportedly punched the victim on the E train platform just before 9 p.m. Wednesday. The 44-year-old victim apparently lost his balance and fell onto the tracks.

Eyewitness News is told a Good Samaritan, a member of the military who happened to be riding the rails, reached down to the track bed and helped the man up.

The victim sustained head lacerations. He was taken to Jamaica Medical Center in stable condition.

Police say the suspect, Manuel Del Gado, got onto a train to flee the scene. He was captured one station later.

He was charged with assault and reckless endangerment.
