Workers at 3 NJ nursing homes strike

HUDSON CO. Newscopter-7 was over Union City early Friday morning where employees at the Castle Hill health care center are off the job.

The other facilities effected are the Harbor View Health Care Center in Jersey City and the Palisade Nursing Home in Guttenberg.

Workers at three Hudson County nursing homes walked off the job around 5:30 a.m.

The union is striking over a contract dispute.

A spokesman for the owner, Avery Eisenreich, said they are bringing in replacement workers to ensure that all patients receive proper care.

The union intends to return to work at 5:30 Monday morning.
