NYPIRG looks at playground safety

A new report will have you taking a second look at your child's playground.NYPIRG did a study of 29 playgrounds in all five boroughs and found them unsafe in a surprising number of ways.

For example, more than 40 percent contained equipment that could pose a toxic hazard from arsenic or lead.

They also found that more than a third of the playgrounds lacked adequate protective surfacing, and almost a fourth contained unsafe swings.
