BRONX
Police say the armed suspect walked into a clothing store on Sunday on Southern Boulevard in the Longwood section and tried to walk out with bags of clothes.
But the clerk jumped on the suspects back trying to stop him.
The robber opened fire during the scuffle shooting the clerk twice in the leg.
The clerk was finally able to wrestle away the gun.
The suspect then ran off.
The clerk is in stable condition.
