Homicide detectives are trying to find the killer of a college student in Brooklyn. "I heard my daughter say, 'Oh my God! Oh my God!' and I said what happened," Eliane Ravilus, the victim's mother, explained.

The next thing she knew her son was dead.

Patrick Nicholas, 20, was shot just before 10 o'clock Wednesday night. He was shot in the back on Lenox Road in Flatbush.

His older sister tried to comfort him as he stumbled and took his last breaths.

"I was holding his hand, rubbing his hand, telling him to hang in there for me because I didn't want him to go," Eureka Ravilus said.

Patrick was about to enter his second year at Kingsborough Community College, but he was an aspiring rapper as well.

Patrick posted his performances with friends on YouTube quite often, but his family insisted he had no enemies.

They believe that somehow there was a horrible misunderstanding. What exactly, they don't know.

Police say they also do not know who did the shooting nor why he was targeted.
