Cop shoots ex-boyfriend during break-in

PATERSON, N.J. The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office says officer Latrenta Grayson fired two shots from her service revolver. One struck her ex-boyfriend, Albert Mullings, in the bicep.

The eight-year veteran of the Paterson police tells investigators that Mullings broke into her home shortly after 2 a.m. Monday and threatened to kill her current boyfriend.

Mullings was treated for a broken left thumb and gunshot wound to the bicep. He faces charges of burglary, making terroristic threats and assault. It was not immediately known if he has retained a lawyer.
