Sewer line breaks in New Jersey

A break in a sewer line is causing fears of a street collapse in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Police are shutting down North Broad Street between King and Wilder streets.

The sewer line broke in front of 911 North Broad Street at around 4:30 p.m.

Elizabeth police expect the roadway to be shut down for at least the next 24 hours.

There is no word on what caused the break. No evacuations have been reported at this time.
