Eyewitness News is told a grey Honda Accord collided with a Department of Transportation dump truck on the Manhattan-bound bridge just before 4:30 a.m. this morning.
Police say the male driver in the Honda was taken to Beekman Downtown Hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
The crash closed the inbound lanes of the Brooklyn Bridge for the early part of the morning commute.
The ramp from the eastbound Brooklyn Queens Expressway to the bridge was also closed.
It's not clear if the DOT truck was parked on the bridge at the time of the crash.
