Violent robbery caught on camera

New York City police are looking for the man behind a violent attack caught on camera. Surveillance video of the brutal beating and robbery was released Friday night.

On the video, you see the suspect kick his victim so hard his arms shoot up in the air. Then another kick and he tosses the man to the ground. Then the stomping begins.

Police hope neighbors will recognize the suspect in the white tee-shirt and shades.

In the middle of the East Harlem beating, the suspect hovers over his 31-year-old victim and says something to him.

There's a shadow of a man watching at the beating and talking to the suspect.

But the suspect is not done.

He swings again, punching the man several times. He then hunches over, slides the victim across the concrete and robs him.

Finally one more stomp and he struts off.

The attack goes on for 60 seconds on camera.

It happened last Monday around 2:30 a.m. In front of the victim's buildings near 124th and Lexington.

The victim was treated at Harlem Hospital for cuts and bruises.

Police at the 25th precinct could use your help. If you recognize that man on the video give them a call at 800-577-tips.
