Car careens into Queens bus stop

DOUGLASTON The car apparently lost control at the intersection of Douglaston Parkway and 65th Avenue just before 8 a.m.

Officials say six people, 5 pedestrians and one person from the car, went to North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset.

All six victims were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Eyewitness News is told the victims ages range from 17 to 62.

Jessica Alvarez's neighbor is among them.

"I was really scared because I take this bus everyday. It's very terrifying how people can drive like this and hurt someone. He just had a baby, while his wife is in the hospital with him. They have a newborn baby at the house," Alvarez said.

The driver told police he skidded on the wet pavement and the car lost control.

Monica Agreda would have been there with her young daughter. Her daughter is sick today, so Monica ran late.

"Oh my God, I saw blood on the floor. I can't believe it," said Agreda.

Police say there is no sign of criminality. This was just an accident.
