Autism Speaks is spearheading an effort to pass autism insurance legislation in states across the U.S. and at the federal level. In most states, insurance companies are not required to cover medically-necessary, evidence-based autism therapies.
On Wednesday, October 14th, Franklin Becker, Executive Chef Abe & Arthur's and the parent of a child with autism, will co-chair the third annual Autism Speaks to Wall Street: A Celebrity Chef Gala, at Cipriani Wall Street. He has enlisted an amazing group of his peers, some of whom are personally connected with autism, to help prepare tableside dinners, including Top Chef's Tom Colicchio, Eric Ripert (Le Bernardin); Masaharu Morimoto (MORIMOTO); Terrance Brennan (Artisanal & Picholine), James McDevitt (Four Food Studio), and Chris Lee (Aureole) among more than 80 of the nation's finest chefs expected to participate.
The Gala will kick-off with a cocktail reception, followed by a sit-down dinner where Franklin and his friends will personally prepare and serve a four-course tasting menu tableside, for nearly 500 guests.
