Weekend bay rescue caught on tape

BROOKLYN A car with a mother and her two daughters plunged into Sheepshead Bay. That's when a Good Samaritan jumped in to save them.

The fisherman says he had no choice but to jump in after he watched their car plunge into the frigid waters and begin sinking.

Keith Gorman was working on a pier on Saturday when he heard the car splash into the water. He spotted the car heading down to the bottom of the bay, and heard screams coming from the passengers.

The deckhand on a nearby fishing boat says he pulled off boots and jumped in the bay.

He was able to untangle the mother, who was in the driver's seat caught in her seat belt. A second man jumped on top of the car and helped pull the women to safety.

The women were then pulled to safety.

No one was seriously injured.
