Model claims firing over weight gain

NEW YORK That's the claim of model Fillippa Hamilton.

The 23-year old is now thinking of suing Ralph Lauren, which, in April, terminated her contract.

Then, adding insult to injury, a photo appeared in an ad overseas, that clearly had been touched up.

Hamilton is 5' 10', 120 pounds, the body of this model is much skinnier. High fashion, an industry where being the right size can become an obsession, a concept highlighted in the movie, "The Devil Wears Prada."

Critics point out, even the size of samples has shrunk to size 4 or even a 2 and they say, that creates a cycle where models know they have to fit into the clothing to get a job and so they get smaller and smaller.

Ralph Lauren acknowledges, the touched up image was released by mistake and takes full responsibility but says Hamilton's work "...ended as a result of her inability to meet the obligations under her contract..."
