NJ dealing with second nor'easter

December 15, 2010 11:31:02 AM PST
Another round of nasty weather - including heavy rains, gusty winds and snow - is headed for New Jersey. The Garden State was already dealing with unseasonably cold temperatures before getting soaked Thursday and Friday by a nor'easter. It dropped about 2 inches of snow in northwestern areas, while heavy rains elsewhere caused minor to moderate flooding.

Another nor'easter developing along the Carolina coast was expected to cause similar problems over the weekend. Rain was falling in most areas by late Saturday morning and was getting heavier as the day progressed, with street flooding reported in several southern communities by early evening.

The National Weather Service issued coastal flood advisories for numerous counties, while a winter weather advisory was in effect for Sussex County. Forecasters were calling for 1 to 3 inches of snow there, mostly at high elevations.
