PATH train mishap in midtown

A PATH train bumped into the end of the platform at the Midtown station injuring 14 people.The train hit the bumper at the end of the platform at the station at Sixth Avenue and West 33rd Street.

Police say there were 14 minor injuries to 12 passengers and two PATH employees. Seven of the passengers were taken to area hospitals to be evaluated.

"Depending how fast the train was coming in, and depending how many people were are the train, there's always potential for it to be bad," said Lt. Larry Mittleman.

PATH service experienced minor delays after the incident.
