Hair counter hits Bloomingdale's

NEW YORK It makes you wonder why didn't they think of it sooner? Women know that if you have someone else's hands working your hair, it looks much better. And now, there's a place for a quick fix.

A little lip, maybe some blush and a pop of color give you a new look at make-up counters in department stores. So why not do the same thing when it comes to hair?

Now you can. Bumble and Bumble has just launched its styling bar, right in the midst of all those make-up counters at Bloomingdale's.

And no wash is necessary. Just come as you are, and they'll prep your hair and give you a quick change.

You can pick a style by surfing their images, or come up with one on your own. And since there's no washing, all it takes is about 20 minutes.

So a spritz of this, a dash of that, a little blow drying and a little styling, all for $35.

Of course, the stylists only use Bumble and Bumble products, all of which are for sale. It helps promote the line and the salons, where you can have the works done. But for that quick fix, step up to the bar and put your head on the line.

The Bumble and Bumble style bar is open when Bloomingdale's is open. No appointments are made, or allowed for that matter. It's first-come, first-serve. Men are welcome too.
