Two charged in death of 4-year-old

Two people have been arrested and charged in the death of a 4-year-old boy. Police have arrested 25-year-old Myrna Cenphang and 26-year-old Steven Dadaile and charged them both with second-degree murder of Jayden Lenescar.

Cenphang is the boy's mother and Dadaile is her boyfriend.

The boy died of blunt impact injuries of the torso and extremities.

He was of normal height and weight for a 4-year-old, according to the medical examiner.

There were no signs that he was malnourished in the report.

A spokeswoman wouldn't say anything else about the case because it's an ongoing investigation.

Relatives say Jayden was a happy child with no history of abuse or neglect.

But he was unconscious when paramedics were called to his mother's apartment at 2:30 Friday afternoon.

The child was rushed to Kings County Hospital in cardiac arrest and died minutes later.

Sources familiar with the investigation say Jayden had bruises across much of his body. Friday evening, NYPD homicide investigators had descended on the boy's apartment where he lived with his mother and maternal grandmother.

Both were questioned for several hours by detectives.

Relatives insisted they never saw any evidence of abuse or neglect.
