Con man crime spree in Manhattan

New York On Tuesday morning, police released RAW video of their suspect.

It is a haunting police sketch of a gaunt, middle-aged man wanted for a series of home invasions in the West Village neighborhood.

The suspect poses as a deliveryman and pushes his way inside after the victims open their doors expecting to sign for a package.

It's happened five times in three weeks.

The first happened on Friday, October 16. Around 4:30 in the afternoon, the suspect entered the home of an 84-year-old woman on Bank Street after asking her for a glass of water. Once inside, while the victim was getting the water, the suspect removed a cell phone and a watch before fleeing.

In other cases, the victims were tied up, but otherwise unharmed.

The victims described the suspect as a white or Hispanic man, 40 to 50 years of age, approximately 5'8" - 6'2" tall. He has been described as wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans and work boots.

The latest robbery happened at 4:30 in the afternoon. The man was not in uniform and offered no form of identification.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect in these incidents is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
