Vigil marks anniversary of immigrant murder

November 8, 2009 6:20:53 PM PST
An emotional service was held on Long Island Sunday, marking the one-year anniversary of the brutal murder of an Ecuadorean immigrant. Dozens of people gathered in Saint Francis de Sales Church in Patchogue to remember Marcelo Lucero.

Lucero was stabbed during an attack by what prosecutors call a lynch mob targeting Hispanics.

Seven teenagers are charged in the murder.

Last week, one of the teens pleaded guilty to conspiracy and hate crime charges and agreed to testify against the other defendants.
