2 women stabbed, beaten in Paterson

Authorities say a man beat and stabbed his girlfriend and her aunt in northern New Jersey Tuesday. Paterson police say 28-year-old Ayanna Hill was stabbed 18 times and 60-year-old Cynthia Betts was stabbed seven times with a kitchen knife and scissors. Police also say the women were beaten with a frying pan.

Hill's 39-year-old boyfriend, Charles Jackson, is charged with attempted murder, weapons possession and criminal restraint.

The women are being treated at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center for wounds to their heads, faces and torsos.
