Patients may be able to cut their prescription drug costs by a third simply by buying in bulk. A new study finds when consumers purchased their medications in 3 month supplies, they cut the cost by 29 percent.

That's an average savings of 5 dollars per prescription.

More than two hundred billion dollars is spent on prescription drugs in the U.S. year.

Prescription drugs account for only 10 percent of the nation's total health care costs but are one of the fastest growing expenses and affect a large percentage of patients.
