Police say the vehicle then fled the scene.
Deiker, of Franklin Square, was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Franklin Square, NY Police say John Deiker was on his motorcycle when he was struck
by an unknown vehicle at the intersection of Commonwealth Street
and Naple Avenue just before noon Sunday.
