Gunfire wounds five in the Bronx

The NYPD is investigating two shootings that left five people wounded. All of the injuries are not life threatening, according to authorities.

The first shooting happened around 5:00 Monday evening at 169th Street and Teller Avenue in the Claremont section. One person was shot in the arm and back.

Shortly after that, a second shooting happened in front of 1455 Townsend Avenue in the Mound Eden section. Four men were shot at this location - three in the leg.

Two of the victims were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and two others went to Lincoln Medical Center.

Witnesses say a dark colored car fled the scene.

Police could not immediately say if the shootings were connected or if any of the victims were innocent bystanders.
