Christmas proved profitable for burglars whom police say stole nearly $100,000 from a Jersey City home. A 58-year-old Jersey City Heights man tells police he returned home at around 11:30 p.m. on Christmas night to find an entire safe that contained $75,000 gone.

The man also reported missing $20,000 in jewelry, $3,000 from a dresser drawer and a $300 leather jacket.

Police believe the burglars gained entry through an air conditioning unit in the window.
