Principal charged with soliciting sex from students

QUEENS Authorities say Quintin Cedeno, a Department of Education principal assigned to the High School for Construction Trades, Engineering and Architecture, solicited oral sex from at least four male students at that school.

The investigation also found that Cedeno inappropriately touched and attempted to touch those four students, and other male students as well, on their private areas. In addition, Cedeno allegedly engaged in electronic communications and had inappropriate conversations with at least eight male students.

Special Commissioner of Investigation Richard J. Condon recommended to Schools Chancellor Klein that Cedeno's employment be terminated and that Cedeno be made ineligible for future positions with the City school system. School officials say Cedeno was not tenured and has been fired.

Condon also sent his findings to Queens County District Attorney Richard Brown for his review and whatever action he deems appropriate. Charges are expected to be filed.
