4 arrested in cop impersonation, prostitution shakedown

TOMS RIVER Police say the 45-year-old Manchester man arranged to meet a woman he believed to be a prostitute at a Toms River hotel Saturday.

Officials say he arrived to find the woman and three men who said they were police officers.

Real police say the men frisked him, ordered him to stay off his computer, rifled through his car, stole $50, and warned they would continue watching him.

The woman was charged with theft. The three men were charged with luring and impersonating law enforcement officers.
