Metro North service back to normal

NEW HAVEN Metro-North had shut down all the tracks in the area after overhead rail wires came down on a train in Fairfield shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday. No one was injured, and passengers were transferred to another train.

Delays were initially running up to 90 minutes.

The problem disrupted the morning commute for rail riders trying to travel from the Connecticut shoreline to New York and points in between.
