Mom who had dying wish answered, dies

On Long Island, a terminally ill woman has died after recently being reunited with her son. Last week, Eyewitness News told you about Marta Perez Martinez, and her dying wish to see her son.

Irvin Vega, 13-years-old left Mexico for the first time ever to come see his mother.

Martinez was smuggled into the U.S. six years ago to find work, leaving Irvin behind.

When she was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she wanted desperately to see her son.

Her wish was granted thanks to a humanitarian visa.

Grief counselors are now helping Irvin with the loss of his mother.
